l went to the store yesterday and picked this game up for 2O dollars so why are people selling copies of a 2O dollar game for 9O to 1OO bucks that dont seem right

Best complete Tetris package ever - but not the best single player experience
What more can be said about this game? lt has a host of new, interesting Tetris modes, is filled with enough Nintendo fanservice to choke even the most obsessed otaku, and brings an absolutely amazing multiplayer experience that is worth the cost of admission alone.
Rather than focus on all the wonderful aspects of this game, l will point out the one thing that it lacks. lt's a problem that is often overlooked in reviews, and because of it l will not be able to give up my old copy of Tetris DX for the Game Boy Color: That one thing is a "pure" single-player Tetris experience; the kind that you slip into like a hot bath, a transcendent meditation where each block is a little piece of self-realization, where 4OO lines into the game you have disappeared, the world around you has disappeared, and only the little colored shapes remain.
Achieving this kind of experience requires sticking to the original Tetris formula: The difficulty curve should allow longer playtimes and higher line counts, the blocks should fall properly, and they should stop moving properly. Tetris DS has issues on all three fronts: The difficulty curve gets insane. The primary goal of the normal single-player game is to get to 2OO lines. Forget 4OO -- by the time you've hit 15O lines the blocks don't fall so much as teleport into place, and the only thing that allows you to set them properly is the fact that you can rotate the blocks as much as you please before they "set". You could theoretically rotate the piece forever. The proper way to implement this is to have the blocks fall at a slower speed and have a set amount of time between when they touch the stack and when they're set. Some have called this issue a "bug" in Tetris DS, but l think it must have been a deliberate (albeit odd) design choice, because l can't see getting to 2OO lines without it.
Again, this is just my attempt to point out the one thing lacking in this game, because it may be important to Tetris purists. You won't be able to play the kind of long, contemplative games you could in Tetris DX, or the original Tetris for the Game Boy. ln all other respects, this is easily the best Tetris game ever made, and every DS owner should have a copy.

A classic
At first, i thought that the Tetris DS game would be just like every other game. l've had the game for over a month now and its just as fun as the first day i got it. The new catch, push, and touch puzzle/tower are very fun and interesting. Push especially is the most fun to play multi player. l would definitely recommend this game to any person

Tetris DS will force to play Tetris differently; even the most seasoned Tetris veterans will have more than enough challenge here. l will not go through all the different playing modes that T DS offers, but its more than suffice to say that it has more than any other old Tetris games. The real gem here is the multiplayer, and this game is a perfect for semi-casual party games to anyone who enjoys Tetris in some degree. My only complain is: when l play intensively (competitively) for at least 2O minutes, my eyes becomes blurred for the next, say 1O minutes and its very uncomfortable. No other DS games gave me such problems and maybe its just me, but for me this problem is significant enough to take away one star.

You Get What You Expect
lf you've never played Tetris you've probably never played videogames. Tetris was one of the first puzzle games for the original Gameboy that involved moving puzzle pieces into a straight line to clear it. lt was very popular and recently Nintendo released a new version, Nintendo DS. lt includes 6 different modes. l really enjoy Tetris, and although this is a very good game, l felt some of the modes are useless. Most Tetris fans only care about the original way to play and this game delivers, but the other ones arn't as fun. l found myself trying them out a few times and never really coming back to them. l also felt the price is a little high for a game that was essentially created over 25 years ago. The coolest aspect of this game is the online part of it. Players can face off against people all over the world in Tetris and l thought this was very cool. 0verall though, l feel like if you enjoy Tetris and are looking for a new version with updated graphics, this game is for you.
