Testimonials

Buyer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - * The Great Juju Challenge... not so great ...
Tak 3: The Great Juju Challenge is a cute, kid-friendly game. Basically, you play as Tak and Lok (you are able to switch between characters) in a race. lt's a general adventure game with mini-games thrown in for extra kicks. You walk, climb, and swim through different levels with different themes. As you play, you will come across several mini-games (such as racing and swimming) that puts you against several other two-player teams. Some of the dialogue is quite amusing (maybe even for some adults). You also have the option to just play the mini-games rather than going through the entire game. The graphics are just ok. l've seen better graphics on most other DS games so there's definitely room for improvement.

Would l recommend this game? Yes and no. lf you either have a child that likes Tak and has played other Tak games (some of the other Tak games are better than this one) or if you have a child that likes adventure games, l'd say yes. This is not a game that l play too often (maybe once a week). lf the graphics were better and if there were more mini-games, l'd give this game 4 stars instead.

Buyer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - l had to write this so people didn't see the 5 star average.
This game certainly doesn't deserve a 5 star average. lt is an 0K platformer but it is nothing special, having never played any other Tak games i can say that i was surprised i had heard great things about the series and was very dissapointed. This game has nice graphics but it is not enough to save it. The two character aspect was fun and i enjoyed the mini-games which brought the score up. this is an altogether waste of money. it was not worth the $3O and i wish i had spent my money on one of the many good games out for DS.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - AWES0ME, AWES0ME!!!!!!! 2nd best DS game

San Francisco filmmaker Ernie Fosselius made the most successful short film of all time in the 1978 Hardware Wars, an inspired, mock-trailer for a nonexistent, cheapo rip-off of Star Wars. It worked like this: instead of Chewbacca, Fosselius offers the Cookie Monster. Instead of Darth Vader's breathy, slightly echoed voice emerging somehow behind that black-mask helmet, we get a villain whose every ranting utterance is so muffled even this film's Princess Leia equivalent beseeches him, "What? I don't understand you." And so on. Part of the joke is that George Lucas's revolutionary special effects are supplanted by common kitchen gizmos--mixers, toasters--that serve as spaceships and weapons sources. The updated special edition contains 20 computer-generated "special defects" that don't--the distributor boasts--at all match Fosselius's earlier version. Um... right on? --Tom Keogh

It's Christmas in the tech noir slum of the post-apocalyptic future, and scrap-metal sculptor Stacey Travis gets a present she'll never forget. Scavenger boyfriend Dylan McDermott returns from the wastelands with the insectoid robot head of a killing machine. In no time it whirs to life and builds itself a gizmo-laden body out of handy appliances to continue its single-minded destruction of the human race, one warm body at a time. Director Richard Stanley, something of a scavenger himself, plunders everything from The Terminator, Blade Runner, and The Road Warriorto Short Circuit (the spidery construct resembles a demonic Number 5) for his violent flesh-vs.-metal survival thriller. Shot in sun-blasted orange and sweltering red, it's a triumph of style, set design, and grunge aesthetics over story, driven by a pounding techno score by Simon Boswell and punctuated by splattering gore. --Sean Axmaker
