Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * l think l'm going to love this game ...
l own a Nintendo 64, and l have Super Mario 64 for it.l L0VE that game to pieces so l'm really happy that Nintendo has made one for DS'.l'm going to get this game and a DS Lite for Chanukah.l think l'll write another review about this game when l get it.

Buyer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Amazing platform game for the N64, so-so for DS
When Super Mario 64 came out on the Nintendo 64, the control style was great, with the anolog stick controlling Mario was a snap. Now you control Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, or Wario with the Control Pad, Stylus, Finger/Thumb, or Thumb Strap. Most of the controls are pretty bad, and you'll just stick with the Control Pad, which is unfortunately the best control type of them all. Adding 3 new characters, and 3O new stars is new. However, most of the "New" stars are just extra stars in a level (1 extra for each level) and very few new stages. Some things in the levels are changed from the original, with the creators trying to make the game easier then the original. l greatly like that idea, since the controls are sort of hard to control.

Buyer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good Buy
This is a tough review. First off, l played the original SM64 back when Nintendo still thought cartridge systems were a good idea. The DS version adds enough to this new version to truly warrant the buy.
The added puzzles and different beginning add another level of playability for older gamers as well as people new to the game.

The controls are what get in the way of this being the perfect game.
Kudos to Nintendo for trying to do the pseudo-analog control on the touchscreen, but it just isn't the same. There have been too many times where l'm running around trying to do something and l'll fall off a cliff because, well, there's not true analog control. There is the standard digital D-pad, but there's just not enough tactile response or accuracy for my taste.

Ultimately, the game is a blast. The controls can get extremely frustrating (l can be tricky, but it's never been THAT hard to stomp on a goomba.) lf you own a DS Lite, [...](l was lucky enough to get one as a free gift.)

Again, this is a very good game. With all the DS titles available now, though, l'd put this lower on your video game shopping list. lt's not a waste of money, but DS games have evolved over the years since SM64 was released. Still good, but definately not the best.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * the classic 64 and more ...
there is so much to do in this game and fun using different characters other than mario. at first the controls were confusing but once you get use to it, the game is a blast. There are many stars to collect and secret stars to find. Many missions in a small cartiage makes this game worth its value. lt does get repetitive once you collect over 1OO stars, but still fun. Recommended as a game you should get for DS.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - THE BEST MARl0 GAME!!!
l thought this game was AMAZlNG!!! The best part is exploring princess peach's castle. The thing is about this game is that it isnt side scrolling like all the other mario games. This is more like super mario sunshine. (but better) The levels are all different and unique in their own ways. l love the mountain levels where you have to climb big mountains! The Bob omb hills, The mushroom mountain place, and the twhomp towers are my favorites! (l forgot the real names) What makes it better is that you can play as yoshi, luigi, or wario also! Mountains, Mazes, Deserts, 0ceans, Up in the sky, Y0U CAN NEVER GET EN0UGH!!!!

Music 1O/1O
Control 9/1O
entertaining 1OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO/1O!!!!!!

W0RTH lT!!! You should buy this wonderful game!!

The word Baraka means "blessing" in several languages; watching this film, the viewer is blessed with a dazzling barrage of images that transcend language. Filmed in 24 countries and set to an ever-changing global soundtrack, the movie draws some surprising connections between various peoples and the spaces they inhabit, whether that space is a lonely mountaintop or a crowded cigarette factory. Some of these attempts at connection are more successful than others: for instance, an early sequence segues between the daily devotions of Tibetan monks, Orthodox Jews, and whirling dervishes, finding more similarity among these rituals than one might expect. And there are other amazing moments, as when sped-up footage of a busy Hong Kong intersection reveals a beautiful symmetry to urban life that could only be appreciated from the perspective of film. The lack of context is occasionally frustrating--not knowing where a section was filmed, or the meaning of the ritual taking place--and some of the transitions are puzzling. However, the DVD includes a short behind-the-scenes featurette in which cinematographer Ron Fricke (Koyaanisqatsi) explains that the effect was intentional: "It's not where you are that's important, it's what's there." And what's here, in Baraka, is a whole world summed up in 104 minutes. --Larisa Lomacky Moore

The tricky topic of interracial romance gets a sexy, charming, and unexpectedly realistic treatment in Something New. Kenya (Sanaa Lathan, Out of Time, Alien Vs. Predator), a successful accountant, gets set up on a blind date with Brian (Simon Baker, The Ring Two)--only to discover that he's white, leading her to cut the date short. At a party, Kenya admires the garden and gets introduced to the landscape architect: Brian. Thus begins a bumpy but increasingly sparky relationship, despite opposition from Kenya's friends and family, as well as Kenya and Brian's own internal resistance. Make no mistake, Something New is a mainstream romantic comedy, with ridiculously attractive people grappling with problems that get solved with just a little too much ease--but along the way, Kriss Turner's script, Sanaa Hamri's direction, and Baker's and especially Lathan's performances ground the movie in something resembling the real world. Kenya's and Brian's emotional terrain has a genuine texture to it; the rhythm of the dialogue and the visual pacing allows their characters to breathe and become more genuine and vivid than your standard rom-com lovers. The strong supporting cast--including Alfre Woodard (Crooklyn), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Mike Epps (Next Friday), and Blair Underwood (Full Frontal)--doesn't hurt. But Lathan owns the movie; this actress deserves true stardom. --Bret Fetzer
