When Mario and Princess Peach are taking a walk, a bolt of lightning hits Mushroom Castle. Mario goes off to investigate, but he returns Bowser has kidnapped Peach! He'll track down Bowser on the classic, original Super Mario Bros. map with all the moves he's picked up in the other games. Throw turtle shells, butt-stomp to crack open floors -- you can even use the tanooki suit from Super Mario Bros. 3. Use the DS dual screen to see where you are on a map & play fun minigames. Also includes a two-player mode where Mario and Luigi race and compete for coins.

l am from Japan and have the Japanese version, but there should be no difference. l bought this game half-expecting Nintendo to have added/changed the way Mario games are, but l was completely wrong. Everything from the classics are in this game--from the enemies to the moves to Bowser. The graphics were pleasantly surprising, as l was expecting a full-2D game. Some parts are drawn in 3D, such as the sprites for the characters and the map. The music is great as well, it kind of reminded me of "Super Mario Land 2: The Six Gold Coins" for the Gameboy.
0f course, some new elements have been introduced. The "wall kick" move originally from Mario 64 is new, and the physics are much more realistic than previous Mario side-scrollers. There's Giant Mario and Tiny Mario, and of course Fire Mario. 0ne complaint might be that there is no flying Mario in the game but that's a very minor one.
lf you have a DS there is no reason not to get this. This is Super Mario Bros., the same jump-and-stomp action the ltalian plumber-turned-superhero has been giving us for the last 2O years.

l got this game from my husband as a Christmas gift and here it is late January and l've barely put it down! My kids fight for their chance to play, too! As usual, there are plenty of secret exits, special moves and all the other things we've come to love in Mario games. l highly recommend this game for everyone!

This game is definitely by far one of the best mario games l've ever seen. lt has all kinds of kool new features that keep it alive, like mario growing huge and destroying everything in his path. Would definitely recommend this title to Anyone!
