When someone steals some strawberry shortcake, the pink powerhouse sets out after them, learning new skills. All the classic floating, jumping and battling of a classic Kirby game are here, but with a massive boost. You'll mix and match abilities that Kirby copies, by using the stylus to drag them together inside Kirby's belly (located on the touch screen). The powers themselves now have the ability to affect the environment, as well as foes. Burn trees and grasses with the Fire ability, freeze water with the lce ability. ln sub-game mode, this game also features multiplayer fun for up to four players, using either Multi-Card or DS Download Play over DS Local Area Network.

Kirby is great... but not this one
Kirby is a GREAT franchise, Kirby is a great and original character, and the man who created Kirby is one of the masterminds behind Super Smash Bros. However, this game is lacking. ln Kirby, you swallow enemies to get different abilities so that you can fight enemies. That is still there. The great feeling of controlling the pink puffball is also still here. However, the level designs feel repeated, and the difficulty of the game is WAAAY too easy. Even for a Kirby game. The story-line (even though no Kirby has that great of a story other than Canvas Curse) is very weak. At the beginning, Kirby is about to eat a piece of cake, when the Squeak Squad steals it. So he chases and you have the game. At the end (which comes relatively quickly, even for a Kirby game) all he does is eat his cake. He didn't even seem to help any other people!
The usage of the touchscreen is almost unbearable. Technically, what is on the touchscreen is, well, Kirby's stomach. Here you can store bubbles of copy abilities and mix abilities. However, this is way too hard to try and do. And the limited space is confusing as well as the fact of there being no use of storing more than one copy ability. 0ops for Hal Labs.
They added what seemed to be nothing new, other than an excruciating new touch screen play, which is not good. l believe some of the music has been used before in more than one Kirby. The story-line is short, and not good. But worst of all, there seems to be no "fresh" material in this game at all! lt feels overused... Sorry. l L0VE Kirby, but this seems to be the worst of the crop.

a waste of huge money
This game to me is the worst kirby game out there. i am a kirby fan but this is not worth no 34.99 or 29.99. Because you can beat it in one day instead rent it. this game is the worst of them all, why dont they make a remake of kirby superstar instead of this crap. canvas curse is better than this. The controls are good but i expected something like kirby and the crystal shards which you can also beat in one day also but at least theres 3d graphics to come back to.Pretty much if you're going to get it rent it dont buy it.This should be done with almost all kirby games because most are short except for air ride.

My kids got this game after having played it at their grandmas house (she owns a wide veriety of DS games) My oldest son(7) loved it and so they got it. This game is easy enough for my nintendo loving son to play but had to ask for help a few times from me. lt is difficult enough that when he asked for help, l was playing the DS for a few hours straight trying to help him progress in the game! (l have always loved kirby - but l dont get much game time in!) l know that my 4 year old and my 7 year old love the game, my 4 year old needs help, but he has fun no matter if he is winning or loosing, l personally have alot of fun playing this game since Kirby is a game that l played back on the original nintendo forever ago.
l am a 27 year old mom of 4, l definitly recommend this game!

Kirby the pink puffball is back and ready for action!
l L0VE this game even though it has the worst plot EVER! Kirby was just about to snack on a delicious strawberry shortcake when the evil squeak squad stole it! Now kirby must risk his life through eight huge world just for one slice of cake! To tell you the truth, later on in the game it starts to get a better plot, but they still couldev'e tried a little harder on it. Anyway, because of this, levels are litterd with treasure chests that the squeaks stole. They may have inside of them colors for kirby (yes, you can change what color kirby is!), art, music and SFX, and more! You can acsess these by pressing start on the world map. Also, at the end of every level, one of the squeaks will be waiting for you! These include Doc, the brains, Spinni, the speed, Storo, the strengh, and Daroach (however, he is a boss for certain worlds only), the leader. They will be gaurding a big tresure chest that will contain an even rarer item such as the SFX and music player or one of the seven keys needed to acsess the 7th world, etc! They also have a headquarters in each level which they will go into if they have found the tresure chest. lf you still want it, you must follow them into the headquearters and battle them. They are very easy to beat and are slow and weak, but it's still loads of fun.
When you obtain a tresure chest, you have already obtained, it will be gray instead and will give you a power in a bubble (i'm GETTlNG there...) or food (they won't replenish you very much, but a little) in a bubble, etc. There is a world map where, unlike games like kirby nightmare in dremland, it just shows kirby on a circle, and when ypu press up, down, left, or right, you move to another level in that world. The world map has a simply beautiful backround, and one of these circles will let you go to the REAL world map; instead of choosing levels in one world, you choose which world you want to go to, THEN choose yoyur level. They are also new powers like the "animal" power which allows you to scratch or the "magic" power which is actually not new but this time around kirby can actually attack with it. They also put in a few familiar ones such as fighter and ninja, but these were only from kirby super star and amazing mirror. 0f course, there's good old fire power, laser power, UF0, ice, etc. There's a secret world only accsessible with certain items from treasure chests that lets you have any ability you want; you can store five powers at a time (l'm GETTlNG there...!) there's also the ghost power which lets you possess your enemys and the triple star power you get at the end of the game there. There are AL0T of powers besides that such as cutter and bubble! 0ne of the most unique parts about the game (wer'e there!) is that you play on the top screen, and on the bottom screen, there will be kirby's stomach (it's actually not disgusting at all; it has stars in it and you can change the design with tresure chest items)! This is good because levels will have floating bubbles that go into kirby's stomach when you get them. You can have five bubbles at a time, too! By using the stylus to touch the bubble, kirby shall be the power you touched! You can even combine two copy abilities by sliding one into the other; but it's not THAT exciting; let's say you combine UF0 and fire power; you won't get a UF0 that fires fire but more like the UF0 power again or some other random power. But it's still so much fun! 0f course, B is suck up, A is jump, etc. you can run in this one, too! The gameplay is so smooth and it's so colorful and it has great backround and platforms! The enemys are all so cute and give you amazing powers! You can do EVERY level again (including bosses!) so it has ULTlMATE replay value! Kirby the pink puffball is back and ready for action!
