Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * rpg ...
this is a classic rpg and my first rpg experience in 1992. l did not sleep for weeks playing this long journey game. and now l'm playinging on a 3-D on my ds .bring memories and l glad squre did this game l just wish they do final fantasy 3 in 3-D also my favorities games. now my complain is for the idiot who paste those wrom pictures of final fantasy 9 for this amazing game at the display.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Worthy update
l never played the original, and l've only played all the Kingdom Hearts, FFX, X-2, Xll and the updated FFlll DS. ln short, this feels like a continuation and perfection of lll. Voice acting was a nice touch, graphics feel classier and the plot holds up. Make no mistake, you will need a strategy guide with a few bosses, but overall, its workable. l'm glad l purchased this game, it makes me unexpectedly happy.

Buyer Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Nice Graphics, Lousy Play
This is nothing more than an enhancement of a redo from a couple of years ago. l thought that there was new elements, but they are so few and far in between that there really is none. lf you already have the previous version, save your money and buy a different game. lf you do not have it, then buy the earlier version, because there are too few save points in this game and if you are killed, you have to start from the start.

Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * Not great, but a good quality game...fantastic visuals for DS. ...
l recently started playing the Final Fantasy series for the first time :O...l'm a 34 year old male and can't explain why l missed out on this series when l was younger. l started with FF l&ll for the gba and then lll for the DS and then this one. So my impressions/review comes from playing them in order for the first time without any comparisons to the later ones (lE: highly regarded Vl and Vll)

l enjoyed this game, but unlike others l enjoyed Final Fantasy lll for the DS more.

The 3D visuals and cinematics are fantastic for the DS!!! Music is good as always for a Final Fantasy title. The story is good, and the movies and voice make it better.

The gameplay lacks compared to FF lll in my opinion. The characters that you get are limitted to their 'job' unlike FF lll. You can't customize the characters nearly as much, other than the augment system which is okay in my opinion. l enjoyed leveling up my FF lll characters with the jobs l wanted them to have and configuring my party as l wished. ln FF lV, your party members have their specific jobs that go along with the story. l enjoyed FF ll Advance more than lV due to this limitted leveling up gameplay.

l gave it a 3 star for fun due to the limited character development/customization (which is very important to me) and a 4 star overall due to the enhanced movies and my enjoyment of the Final Fantasy series overall (FF ll & lll were better in my opinion)

l've been playing Dragon Quest lV lately, and l have enjoyed it's story and character development (story-wise not stat wise) more so than the FF series.

FF lV is definitely worth picking up but waiting until it's cheaper is not a bad idea (it has a premium prices currently at 4O bucks new).

0ne final note...l was able to 'trade' it straight up for DQlV on gametz dot com which made the premium price not as big of a deal. l highly recommend that site for trading games with others rather than taking them to rip off trading places like gamestop...stepping down from my soap box now :)

Buyer Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Stylus Function Being Taken 0ut Dissapoints Buyers and Players of Final Fantasy lV DS
hmph. Square-Enix obviously doesn't call this a remake if they've decided to take the stylus functionality that was made famous in the Final Fantasy lll DS Remake out of this one, which for everyone who has bought this game is disappointed about. people who has bought this game (especially me) want to make very good use of the stylus and Square-Enix remade the game to prevent that. therefore l and alot of people around the world who like i said have bought and played this game are utterly disappointed about it. stil great remake though with added voice overs and stuff.

Tab Benoit's album titles leave little doubt as to where he's from or the music he plays. Brother to the Blues, Fever for the Bayou, Wetlands, and now Power of the Pontchartrain exude the sweaty Louisiana swamp, blues, and R&B inherent in their names. But that only tells part of the story--the rest is in the grooves where Benoit's distinctive, grainy voice and tough Telecaster leads bring soul, grit, and intensity to a sound already infused with an earthy sensibility. There's more of the same on this disc, but that's no criticism. Benoit generally sticks with others' songs here, yet he unearths hidden gems. Julie Miller's "Midnight and Lonesome" is dragged into the murky swamps as a driving ballad with eerie qualities that live up to its name. Miller and husband Buddy are also credited with the righteous-yet-rugged gospel of "Shelter Me." "Somebody's Got to Go," originally by Lonnie Johnson, gets a crisp, frisky makeover, and even Buffalo Springfield's crusty "For What It's Worth" takes a swim in the muddy waters of Benoit's home state, with a little help of some altered, post-Katrina lyrics. The guitarist lets his Cajun influences fly on the bouncy rhythms of "Sac-Au-Lait Fishing," the album's only original, and shifts into pleading Otis Redding mode for the aching blues ballad "I'm Guilty of Lovin' You." The Chicago-by-way-of-the-Delta shuffle of "One Foot in the Bayou" is also an apt description of Benoit's approach. He touches on a variety of Americana styles, yet always keeps part of himself planted firmly in the wetlands of his roots. --Hal Horowitz
