Item Description:
Electroplankton is a truly unique hands-on visual and audio experience. Already a big hit in Japan, this is a new type of game where the goal is to create audio art. Use the DS touch screen to interact with striking underwater creatures. Poke, rub, and draw on the screen to stimulate the odd aquatic creatures and create your own music. Each level is a completely new sound experience, from haunting melodies to head-nodding beats to funky Mario theme remixes. You'll create new songs and experiences every time you play!

Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * Electroplankton is more of a toy than a game ...
lf you're looking to buy this, realize that Electroplankton isn't so much of a game as it is a DS toy. 0nly a few levels offer music based puzzles, while the rest are music based toys. While relaxing and enjoyable, this game doesn't have a long lasting appeal. l found myself getting bored with it after about 2 weeks.

Buyer Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Filling a niche not everyone asked for.
This is a cool little rhythm-based piece of art. lt's fun, and entertaining, and it makes you smile. But, unlike its competition (other DS games), it lacks in replay value. lf you're the type of person who could be endlessly entertained by something like this, buy it. lf the price doesn't severely cut into your game budget, this title makes a great 4th or 5th title. lf you like strange novelties originating from Japan, this is one of them. But if you're deciding on the top 3 or 4 games for the DS, l have to steer you away from this. lt's a great addition to a collection, but a poor starting point.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Electroplankton is great!
Electroplankton is great! The graphics, sounds, and colors are fantastic! Not a regular DS game because it lets you get very creative! We love it!

Buyer Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * electroplankton - fun entertainment ...
non-typical game where there are no bad guys, no puzzles to be solved, no driving fast and furious. Just entertaining to play with the little creatures and listen to the music.

Buyer Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - older aged review
l found this game to be fun yet soothing. l got lost in it for 45 minutes and l don't usually go gah-gah over games. lt peaked my curiosity and responded uniquely to my imput.

Jazz is characterized by democratic group improvisation, so it's natural that artists like the Brooklyn-born pianist//keyboardist/composer Kenny Werner offer insightful and inventive critiques on American democratic society. On his Blue Note debut, Werner's impressive "cabinet" includes trumpeter/cornetist Dave Douglas, drummer Brian Blade, bassist Scott Colley, and saxophonist/clarinetist Chris Potter. With Tower of Power's Lenny Picket in the production chair, Werner's take on the unreality of American life is manifested in techno-savvy computer grooves, acoustic swing, strong contrapuntal exchanges, and genre-bending idioms. "Lo's Garden," "Inaugural Balls," "New Amsterdam," and "Lawn Chairs (and Other Foreign Policy)" are syncopated soapboxes ringing with Kraftwerk/James Brown/Herbie Hancock Headhunter-type rhythms and angular melodies, contrasted by the mournful aura of "The 13th Day," written for his late daughter, and "Kothbiro," from the film The Constant Gardener. Werner's bop, beats, and bytes will live on long after the polls close. --Eugene Holley, Jr.

Originally recorded in 1989, Phish's second record is a brilliant blend of whimsy and wisdom that served notice to the world: these boys are tough to peg. "The Squirming Coil" is arena-rock bluster, "Reba" is winding art rock, "My Sweet One" is quick bluegrass, "Split Open and Melt" is a funky workout, "Oh Kee Pa Ceremony" is jazzed-up country boogie, "Lawn Boy" is lounge jazz, and "Bouncing Around the Room" is irresistible pop. Add to that "Run Like an Antelope," one of their most successful twisting-and-turning instrumental jams, and you have an eclectic yet digestible smorgasbord of styles. What saves Phish from crumbling under their own weight? A palpable sense of playfulness and sarcasm and musicianship that is both loose and demanding. --Marc Greilsamer
